Sneak Peak

While I'm waiting to get all the photos back from my Vintage day on Monday, I thought I'd post a sneak peak of what me and my lovely mother got up to on Monday:

After winning Voutique and Candypout's blog competition we headed to London for a vintage makeover and a mini photoshoot........

Georgiana did a wonderful job on our hair and make-up. Pampering us for nearly 2 and a half hours!!!

And taking some lovely sweet pics of me and my mum in her beautiful retro studio.

Needless to say we were very happy bunnies when we left!!!

Can't wait to blog about the whole day and get the rest of the pics :)

Cath Kidston Anniversary

This month the wonderful Cath Kidston are celebrating their 20th Anniversary!!!

And to celebrate the momentous occasion, they're launching a limited edition range called 'Coming up Roses' this Thursday (25th April).

CUR retouched story shot jpg

In case you've managed to miss the Cath hype:
(if so where on earth have you been!!!)

Cath Kidston is a designer, known for her nostalgic and floral prints covering everything from clothes to cake stands to wallpaper. And it's also insanely addictive. Having once been bought a Cath mug as a present when I was younger, I then went on to buy purses, bags, mirrors, hand cream, more mugs.......... So be warned - it's a pretty floral addiction.

Keep an eye out this coming Thursday.

Tipsy Tea Cups

Having recently discovered this company on Twitter, I got ridiculously excited when they wrote to me asking me to blog about them.

'A fusion of old and new, tea and cocktails.'

Finding beautiful teacups, and sturdy wine glasses, they bind the two to create the perfect combination of: wine and tea :) Perfect for a relaxing cup of tea, or glass of wine, TTC also suggests using them for: a tea light holder, soup starter, desserts or simply decoration. They're also ideal for any wedding or fancy dinner party you may be planning.

Priced from around £19 for a single cup or £100 for a set, they are a bit pricey.
But would definitely make a perfect gift or decoration, so if you can afford it I think they're definitely worth it.
Just don't smash them!!!

Lancôme La Base Pro

Having spent more than I've possibly ever spent on a single make-up product this weekend, I felt I had to share the wonders of my new purchase.

Having most definitely not been graced with flawless skin, I got extremely excited when I discovered primer. I'm useless at make-up hence I'd never heard yet alone used any before. Designed to cover up pores, present a smooth flawless finish and keep your make-up on I was definitely keen to discover whether it actually worked or whether I was about to part with my pennies for just a fancy bottle.

The woman did a quick display in the shop using the product on her hand (but to be honest I couldn't tell the difference). So I popped on home and decided to use it for a night out - desperately hoping for some miraculous results.

And low and behold it actually worked!!!

Unfortunately my camera's not good enough to do a before and after shot, but I have definitely made this a new addition to my make-up bag.

I bought Lancôme La Base Pro  for £28.

Anna Karenina

Knowing nothing about this film apart from it being a tragedy I entered the cinema ready to ball my eyes out and........ not a tear was shed.

Unfortunately I've yet to read the book, but I'm guessing Joe Wright's adaptation doesn't do it justice.

While Joe Wright produces an aesthetically pleasing film with its theatrical style, beautiful dresses and amazing music. My initial reaction was: WHAT IS GOING ON?!?! Numerous revolving scenes and random dances really detract from the storyline, so I spent the first few minutes just trying to concentrate on where we were going. The theatrical-ness (if that's a word) of the film also meant I found it hard to connect with the characters - hence the lack of expected tears.

But, storyline aside...

The outfits are beeeeeeautiful.
And you can't help being slightly jealous every time Keira walks out in a new fantastic frock.

AND the music was also incredible. If you listen to the link below you can see what a wonderful job Dario Marianelli did <3

To do list:
Read Anna Karenina!!!
